Are you happy whensome issue was discussed with experts? Is it necessary to have this kind ofseparation here? Please, do not mention any names and do not comment the way ofreceiving this expert sign here. CS Moderator ...Within our Technical Forum there are three or maybe four groups of users. There are Moderators as I am Doing all the editorial jobs There are Experts This are Users with a special knowledge about one or more of our products. They are answering technical questions and assit me to moderate the Technical Forum. Experts are nominated by the Moderators. There are registered users the Members. They are able to publish postings, rate other postings and so on. An active user will be a Gold Member and a very active user a Platin Member. This happens automatically. And there are a lot of unregistered Users. This are reading postings, searching for solutions and information within our Technical Forum. This users are a not active part of our Technical Forum. ... Best regards, Hristo Mihalev My opinion is, that we must divide between 2 kinds of Experts First kind: Experts that becomes experts because they show their knowledge and experience for a long time here in the forum. Usually, they give high - class answers. Like the TS. The secondkind of experts are those experts, that are demanded from Siemens just to have an expert for some Conference. This guys can also be very great, but unfortunately, some of them do not answers questions "with heart and soul" but just give a bored answer because Siemens told them to do so. Sometimes (and I have a lot of examples) this second kind of "experts" just give a short answer, not reading the complete question. So, the answer may be wrong, even if it was done from an expert. Once, i complain about this situation, in vain...

MM1234 Posts: 270 Rating: (52)	Dear UMENCHO, I think that one thing is clear - good and well detailed answer is always good, no matter if it was posted by an expert or a member. As well as that, nobody can be always right and even expert might get confused sometimes, so I for myself wouldn't really differenciate in a manner "whooo, that's an expert, that solves my problem" from "oh man, why does this joe answer me, I wanted to hear from an expert, you can't be right" and I am pretty sure no reasonable person does that. As much as I mean what I said before, I believe it's always good to have the rank experts and not even for just one reason. Firstly, I believe this serves to those entitled by this rank asa sort of recognition of their knowledge and skills, not in a way they get something to brag about, but in same manner as there are ratings, progress bars for posts/activity etc. Simply put, I consider this to be a healthy thing forall - experts, members andthis forum as a whole. Secondly, eventhough I said that the good answer from an expert has sam be value as answer from a member, in some cases there might happen to be some troubles, answers going against each other, really tough stuff and such, it's good to know there is someone who has most likely encountered more problems than you ever will and that person might probably be telling the right place where to start from. All in all, I don't imagine that the experts are mysterious man with long gray hair,pointy hat and a beard that can tell you the anwser on a question you were going to ask in a moment (well, maybe some, who knows ), they are just more (way more (way way more (...))) advanced members that were as clueless as some of us in a time long past, but it's good to know they are there!

I think every forum have some kind of division of its users by status, rank, knowledge or something else and we also cannot exclude such division in our forum too. This is necessary. Also I'msure here are many users with a very good knowledge,which give good answers and I hope they will become an experts in a near future.

This differentiation between users is logical; I mean we should have moderators to govern the forum and experts who have special expertise to provide reliable answer for ordinary users. This system motivates users to work hard, read more and review their old understandings and if they think of next rank in forum, they participate more and try to be more helpful in the forum Regards

One thing to remember you.Do not forget that this is a forum.I agree in our case this forum is a part from Siemens support.The idea is other.

Technical Forum

View existing conversations and talk to other users about specific product applications and issues.

Send your question directly to a Siemens technical support expert via our online Support Request:

Donot mix the pleasure with real job.

I mean Moderators offer Expert Status after they found someone more helping for long time. And yes, it is correct that Expert answers are same as other Users, but they are called experts because they are contributing more and more towards forum for a long time with their knowledge and experience. I also think if Moderator publish figure of posting, Expert are always ahead in Replying Queries (ofcorse not sure in Premium because we may see so many new users during Premium) And for those, who dont wanna expert Stamp, it is not compulsory...Moderators are asking not saying for expert.. It is always Motivating for Users to be at higher Rank whether it is Bronze-Silver-Gold-Platinum-Diamond or it is Expert Status Regards Devesh Vithani
