It is impossible to install D7-SYS, if you have not installed CFC. Prats if ur using EXM448 COM profibus is needed. Not in all cases! You need COM Profibus only when configure EXM448 as DP-master.

It would be nice to have a SCL-compiler - would be the portability of programs from 400 th to FM. It would be nice FM worked without a 400-second - as something extra to fly 412 to launch FM

D7-sys brings a libary with >300 blocks you must use to design your program. FB-Gen allows you to program your own blocks in C and generate a libary for the CFC. So you can use in CFC the standard blocks and the blocks in your own libary. The FB-Gen does not allow to do anything, e.g. you can not directly access the data of a other block, you must use output and input connectors to transfer data from one to a other block.

Please remember, that for read any data from FM or EXM (I mean to connect online and watch something) you need first to create, compile and download program to the FM. Uploading program from FM458 is not possible.

But I think you try to monitor/modify values using VAT, am I right? This method is not working for FM. You should open CFC-chart, switch to online mode by pressing 'Test mode' button (or goto the menu Debug-Test mode), and watch and modify values in CFC. Read chapter 7 of manual SIMATIC Getting started with FM 458-1 DPabout how to manipulate with FM-program in online mode.
