now customer demand hot rendundant system then I have take 400H system withCP 443-5 Extended -for connection of S7400 to Profibus DP(6GK7 443 5DX040XE0). tell me this configuration is cost effective than ethernet system. I have attached system configuration. AlsoI have doubt that if I am take this system on ethernet thenS7-REDCONNECT 2008 edition -Software is required likewise above system required any software.

Hello RAJKIRAN, What you can do is using X2 in each CPU for I/Os and using X1 (MPI/DP) in each CPU for WinCC. In X1 assign different MPI/Profibus addressfor each CPUand connect them as in your picture. I can't say It won't work but you can't say you are having fault-tolerant connection. As Ammy has already told you there's no need for CP443-5 as long as you don't have plenty of slaves and as long as you are not using HART and PDM. As I understand this is a new project. I feel you don't know that some new 400H CPUs have been released couple of weeks ago. The integrated PN interface of the new V6 CPUs can handle both Profinet I/O and S7-fault tolerant connection with WinCC. So, you can use Profinet I/Os in a copper ring structure (Only one IM153-4 per node). You don't need the CP443-1 anymore(in small systems) but still you need 2 CP1623 with REDCONNECT licenses. I don't know if this solution is cheaper or not because I still don't have the prices of the new CPUs. So, I recommend to consult your local Siemens office. Best regards, H-H
