Dear Sir I have three Siemens Relay 7UM62 and one Power Meter P50. And I will use CPU 315-2 DP to conncet them on ProfibusDP ,WinCC get information about them. How could I use S7 CPU 315-2 DP to connect to Relay and Meter on ProfibusDP. second question is splitted to how to use WinCC to connect CPU 315-2 DP and get any information about Relay and Meter. thanks Br. Hello, Extracted from the SIPROTEC 4 7UM62 catalog: "Rear-mounted interfaces At the rear of the unit there is one fixed interface and two communication modules which incorporate optional equipment complements and permit retrofitting. They assure the ability to comply with the requirements of different communication interfaces (electrical or optical) and protocols (IEC 60870, PROFIBUS, DIGSI)." "With the PROFIBUS-DP, the protection can be directly connected to a SIMATIC S5/S7. The transferred data are fault data, measured values and information from or to the logic (CFC)." Here an FAQ document about the Profibus DP together with Siprotec: http://siemens.siprotec.de/download_neu/devices/1_General/Doku_Protokolle/Englisch/Profibus%20DP/SIPROTEC4_PROFIBUS_DP_FAQ_en.pdf You will need a GSD file that you must install in the Hardware catalog of STEP7. Here a link where I found a Siprotec 4 DP module GSD file (among other GSD files): http://siemens.siprotec.de/download_neu/devices/1_General/Doku_Protokolle/Englisch/Profibus%20DP/Profibus_DP_GSD-File/Profibus_DP_GSD_V03.00.exe How to proceed for installing a GSD is described here: How do you integrate a GSD file into the STEP 7 HW Config for PROFIBUS or PROFINET? http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/2383630 I hope this will already bring you in the right direction. |

Hello chubby; To add to jklm's very complete information on Siprotec relays: Profibus exchanges with a Siprotec relay use "Standard mappings" between the master and the slave. These are pre-structured data values that come in different sizes, and contain specific values that you must choose from. You cannot select values that are not in a mapping, you must take the mappings as they come, even if it means exchanging 120 bytes to read a few values.. Here is a link that explains the standard mappings for your 7UM62 relay: http://siemens.siprotec.de/download_neu/devices/1_General/Doku_Protokolle/Englisch/Profibus%20DP/Profibus_DP_with_SM_3-1_since_3-n/com_profibus_7um62_us.pdf The mapping to be used will be selected at commissioning time of the relay, with Digsi4 software; since you also need this software to set the Profibus parameters of the relay, plan it for the same moment. Also, if you want to monitor the open/closed status of the relay, for example, you will also need Digsi4 to associate this status with one of the digital input signals in the relay, at commissioning time. As far as using Profibus with a Simeas P50, matters are simpler. Have a look at the Power Quality download page, where you will find the gsd file for the unit and a protocol description manual: http://www.energy.siemens.com/hq/en/automation/power-transmission-distribution/power-quality/power-meter/simeas-p50.htm?dlsearch=1&fiProductFamily=Power%20Quality%20and%20Measurements&fiProductName=SIMEAS%20P50%20%2F%20P55 Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |
