how to force data block

kuttysk Advanced Member Joined: 6/28/2011 Last visit: 2/23/2021 Posts: 95 Rating: (0)	hi guys, its my first thread to all. here i attached a block with a network. the data block DB114.DBX10.2 is used there to select the metal detector from the OP. is ti possible to force this value to 1. i need the metal detector selection should be ON at all the time. MM1234 Posts: 270 Rating: (52)	Hello kuttysk, if I understand you right and you want the value in your & block from the DB114.DBX10.2always to be 1, you can just leave it out of the & operation, because 1(DB114.DBX10.2) & 1(...any amount of other elements giving 1...)= 1 and 1(DB114.DBX10.2) & 0(...any amount of other elements giving 0...) = 0, this is simply the rules of logic operations.

hdhosseini Diamond Expert Joined: 1/28/2009 Last visit: 2/23/2021 Posts: 6713 Rating: (1288)	Forcing is also possible via logic modification,but notice this may be a source of potential danger in your machine. hdhosseini This is a phsycological issue ,human beings are so forgetful.When you force a variable with SET,CLR or Load and Transfer, this may remain as a source of potential danger in your system for a long time till you remember to remove them. But in the case of using force editor,the LED reminds you sth forced in the CPU and forced item will be highligted while you are online. regards

In the operator panel there is a selection to make the metal detector ON/OFF. the metal detector should not be bypassed by anyone else (Except maintenance team). regarding the other input conditions, they are generating from the metal detection by metal detector. kindly help me to do this. My CPU is CPU 315-2DP. will it support the forcing of data block?

In simatic manager, under the PLC, there is a menu "Display Force Values" and i selected that and followed up the steps.is it the right way to force this data block? if you have a clear procedure, then tell me. hope your kind reply.
