Your post made me sad.  So many people fail to recognize the power in abstraction with higher level languages available in TIA Portal and S7-1x00 PLCs.

here is possibly way in STL.

If you can, try to undiscover the language (or at least put it on a shelf), long term you may be much better off.  It is not the most efficient way to program an s7-1200/1500 PLC, nor is there any runtime speed advantage to STL programming.  In fact, STL may even run slower than the equivalent logic in SCL / LAD/FBD.

STL is around because S7-300/400 PLCs & programmers are still around, and on those specific devices, STL runs faster (in pretty much ever case - I am led to believe).

But, in these more modern times where high level languages are available, using assembly-like languages like STL seems like such a waste of brain-power.

If your company has an existing vast STL library, perhaps then you can treat each block as a "black box". If a particular black box breaks or needs modification, create a new block in a higher level language that performs the required tasks is probably going to be faster and more efficient long term.
