Hello Experts, Recently new CNC lathe is installed in our shop with Sinumerik 802D, with 6SN1123-1AB00-0BA1 2x9A power module & 6SN1118-0NH11-0AA1 control module. AC servo motor 1FK7100-5AF-1AA2 I.E. 12 Nm, 8 A rated. Main spindle drive is AC induction motor of 55 Kw with Yaskawa drive. X axis is tripping on 380500 - fault code 608 value 0. we checked & found drive parameter 1105,Maximum permissible current, is set at 59 %. This parameter is pre-set at time of first start up. (Please find attached here with the description of current limit setting) My question is it tripping because of this P1105 parameter?. Also as per manual it is pre calculated at first power start up & for calculated for unlisted motor. Then in my case, when the complete package is of Siemens make why it is not getting updated as rated motor current? i.e. in my case as 8 Amp? Can any one help me?. Thanks in advance. DEEP. Hi jason.polensky, Thank you very much for your interest & detail reply. Please see my comment to it as follows. Was the system dimensioned big enough for the task at hand? The motor can obviously be ran with that power section, however to reach more of the range of that motor, a 50amp peak module would be more handy. (As indicated in the catalog opposite page to that motor.) Would you burn up your IGBT's if you increase the 1105 value to 100%, this is the ultimate question you have to ask, as well as will this module survive the typical loads it will be asked to carry. In either case, it can be repaired, or replaced for a very long time to come. The 611 and that motor can be operated in its overloaded range, the limitations are clearly identified in the planning guides for each. Is it wise, to operate equipment at like that, no. It is easier to purchase equipment that operates further from its limitations. How big is the infeed module for the axes in the system, and what other devices are connected? X, Z, a live tooling motor? Any other axes near limits?Infeed module capacity is 10/25 Kw 6SN1145-1AA01-0AA2. Only X & Z axes motors of same capacity are connected. Were axis accellarations and jerk limitations appropriate for the axes?Accelerations, we never faced any problem & is OK. As far as jerks are considered, on Z axis, at particular areas jerks are observed at low feed rate. We got reply from machine manufacturer as those are mainly because of rack & pinion drive mechanisam & at those low feed rate level machine shouldn’t be operated. When are you reaching this limit, and getting drive alarms? Only during metal cutting operation at low feed rates, the machine trips on this alarm. Only on accellearation? (Is your accelleration too high for this case? Analyze with servo trace, plot Utilization, and when you decrease 1105, observe that your percentage load increases) Deep - (this indicates to me that less of the inverter capability is made available due to the motor current limitation of 1105 - a lot like the current limit switches on the 611A controller cards), the semantics of this in the documenation also irritate me, but the effect is exactly the same as described. A similar function, MD1239 TORQUE_LIMIT_FOR_SETUP has a nicer description and has a similar physical behavior when in setup mode(Terminal112) When moving at constant speed? (Is the mechanical system of reasonable quality reflecting only reasonable load to the motor? - this can be analyzed with servo trace)During moving at constant speed, we have not found much fluctuations in motor % current. (Anyway can you guide me how to analyze the same with servo trace.) When in a steady state cut? - (What kind of loads are given to the motor by your cutting? Use servo trace to discover this)(Your last post indicated this is where the issue is...however verify it is not the accelleration to or from the part, or other interesting bump in the road.) When standing still for a period of time? - (Is this a big lathe with steel on steel sticky surfaces that has a difficult time pulling exactly into position, or moving small increments?)Yes it is big (heavy lathe), chuck dia 1200 mm, swing over carriage 1000 mm, length 6000 mm.
