You can go for SIMOTION instead of ET 200s. |

Configuration and sample projects http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/45977481Be careful with selecting corresponding type of encoder too. Best regards, Hristo Mihalev

Hello PDGANGANI We have bee doing Glass positioning on rollers in various types of glass processing lines. Here is how we achieved this : a) You always need to know the initial position of the Glass ( Glass Head position and in some cases also the Tail position- for Glass length ) using photo-sensors sensing the glass edges. b) Thereafter you need to assume that there is no slippage between the glass and rollers ( Normally Glass conveyors rollers with Rubber rings or Ceramic Rollers ( Hot areas ) which ensure minimum slippage between glass and rollers. c) TheGlass positionis then calculated with respect to the Roller position ( Using encoders mounted on the rollers / motor driving the rollers ). d) The Calculated glass position needs to be verified every 5-10 meters by additional position sensors and corrected if necessary. I hope thisgives you some ideas regarding how to position glass onglass conveyors. Cheers Navnag |

Hello Navang, Thanks for Detailed Reply... You have explained same application I am using.. Your points a,b,c are Fullfilled in my system.. But In my Glass heating Zone There is no Photo sensore in 18 Mtr Area!!! one sensore at entry point and one sensore is at exit point of heating zone. I am facing problem with glass position inside heating zone. what can i do in logic side????

Glass usually does not slip on these rolls, ulness there are severe jerks in movement / accleration / deceleration ...Pl check. Other reason could be incorrect measurement / callibration / backlash etc. Cheers Navnag |
