I mean the supply voltage of the sensors. The logo has a supply voltage of 12VDC or 24VDC, therefore you need an additional power supply for the sensors. Maybe you get a function, if you connect directly to other systems, but on IFM homepage i miss a value for a load resistor. See https://www.ifm.com/us/en/product/VSA001 for more details and the note, that the sensor is designed for connection to diagnostic electronics VSE. I have never used these sensors and the diagnostic electronics VSE, maybe you can use an analog output of VSE to connect to IOT shield. Regards, Scorp |

Thank you Scorp for the clarification! When I first wanted to connect the IFM sensors directly to the IOT Shield, I was also concerned about their "openness". However, using the VSE100 there is one way to do it, as you mention. Yesterday, I was able to read vibration signal from a VSA001 sensor using the analog output 0...10V from the VSE100. If anyone wants to know how, do not hesitate to contact me. (Hint: Change VSE parameters using Octavis Software) |
