Dear AutoGen_2835334 sorry, but this cannot work. At serial ports there is no internal bridge, with which You could easily write and read from the same port. At serial ports always the hardware handshake must be handled. I'm not the arduino guru, but there is client.print() and server.print() available (using Ethernet port). Perhaps this helps. Bye |

Hi,
That's possible and not very hard. Just change your wording: what you really want is called a "fifo" (first-in-first-out) or named-pipe in the linux world and not a virtual serial port. You have to create that fifo in a shell using the 'mkfifo' command and then you can use the fifo like a regular file, but from two sides with one writer and one reader. Use the normal file-APIs for reading and writing. For a bi-directional communication, you can either use two fifos or a unix domain socket. Michael |
