You could use something like wireshark to sniff the network packets when portal downloads the plc tags to see if that "file" or data package is configured in a way that a specific function call returns all the plc tags and DBs/structures within the currently downloaded programming. I know I can upload plc tags, db's/structures from a plc, so it must be possible to interrogate. I thought I remembered reading something about it in Snap7 that it could perform an upload from a running processor. You might be better off using Support Requestwith your exact needs to see if Siemens has a simple way to either purchase software, or a license to a library that saves you hours of reverse engineering or re-engineering after every plc change. |
