Seems that a PHD or or higher is required to download the SD-Card image. I successfully registered, got authorized to download export restricted software but this doesn't seem to include export to countries next go Germany,.. Unfortunately, an automated release of the desired download via the Web is not possible. That does not mean that the download is excluded. You can now forward the process for manual checking.

I get the following: You cannot download this file, since you do not have the necessary authorization yet. Your registration inquiry will now be forwarded; due to the manual review the registration may take several days, however. You will get a confirmation e-mail as soon as your download registration is finalized. You can download the requested software or other software packages only when you have received the positive confirmation. Why is this here? Not helping yourselves by making it non-user-friendly to download the software needed to make this thing work... |

Apparently you can get everything you need here to compile your own image: https://github.com/siemens/meta-iot2000 I may compile the minimal and example images tonight, and put them up on Dropbox for others. |

Sorry for this long process in order to download the example image. But this is necessary due to export restrictions. Best regards! |

If I compile the image source located here: https://github.com/siemens/meta-iot2000/tree/master/meta-iot2000-example and post a link to the resulting wic image, would that be acceptable? |

Hello together, after creating my account and try to download the SIMATIC IOT2000 Image it just took me up to 1 day. At the beginning I filled out my account information with one mistake (not on purpose) but after receiving an e-mail after round about 2 hours I got the information how to fill out the personal account information. For private usage you should fill out the company field and departmend field with "private usage" or in German "private Nutzung". All in One I can tell you that my test was successfully finished after 1 day with permission to be able to download the latest SD Card Image for the SIMATIC IOT. I hope this information will help you.

I'm still waiting for my authorization to go through. In the meantime, I've successfully - or so it seems - built the minimal image but I'm struggling to understand if the board is correctly booting from the SD card or not as I don't have a UART cable at the moment and the board doesn't seem to be connecting to my local network. |

Hi, did you see the note in the manual/elsewhere that by default it connects with a static IP of 192.168.200.1? You have to change the configs if you want it to use DHCP or something else. |

Hello, I will download the latest image and see if the Telit Wireless HE910 module is recognized or not. It is on the sample Galileo Gen 2 board. On the meantime I will try and build a bootable image. I followed most of the instructions on setting up the yocto repositories, etc. etc. One of the urls: https://github.com/siemens/meta-iot2000/blob/master/meta-iot2000-example/README.md Indicate that the "Then download meta-iot2000 (if not done already) and enter the build environment.", how is it downloaded ? Where does it go? BTW, I work for Telit ... Thanks David |

The instructions for meta-iot2000-example are meant to be added on to the instructions for meta-iot2000-bsp on the GitHub page. Everything goes in the same working directory. If you follow all the shell commands they should be put in the correct relative paths. |

I have finally received the link to download the full image after a manual clearance, but the download keeps failing. I have made multiple attempts and invariable it fails. Has anyone else faced this issue ? Any known issues with the server ? Regards Deepak |

Hi bergmanu, I don't get any error code. The chrome download just ends abruptly and the file is incomplete. The maximum size I have managed to download is 1.9gb |

Is there a changelog somewhere? I am especially interested whether the I2C/SPI problem is fixed in this version so that I don't have to issue the modprobe command anymore. |

Hello, I got the same problem due to export restriction authorization. Is there a way to obtain the SD Sample Image without waiting a week? I think this is a bit embarrassing, because I received the IOT 2040 but actually I cannot use it because software needed to make it working is not included inside the hardware box. So I have to register to download manuals and so on, but it is very curious that I have to wait a manual check to download the software NEEDED for correct setup and working. Well, this is not a good beginning, even if you are an individual or an enterprise. |

Gruss B.Schoenmueller |

Thanks! ModbusRead / ModbusServer is working with node v6.9.2. Great! Question. After installing several node-red contribs I would like to copy the image. It works via Win32DiskImager but this software copies the complete SD-card. For example I have a 32Gb card the image is also 32Gb. Is it possible to copy only the relevant data/sectors to an image. I think it will be a lot smaller in size than the 32Gb. Rene |

Hi Bergmanu, Could we please get an NTP client in the next image? e.g.: timedatectl, ntpd, ntpdate, etc. Being that the IoT2020 does not have a battery backup, time must be set on every power up. |

Hello, I played a lot with the IOT2040 and image 2.1.2. With the new image 2.1.3, I cannot find the good old "Expand File System" in the "iot2000setup". With version 2.1.3: I looked in all the elements, but can't find anything to expand to my full SD card size. At the first look I thought "Oh... there must be a new manual "Seting up the SIMATIC IOT..." ", but it is still 2.0. Any advice please? Best regards, Hugo |

@Jan. Your post may give me the courage to attempt a clean build. I've never done that. Windows and some Mac is where I spend all my time. @Bergmanu: Request for NTP remains should you beat me to building a new image (likely!) |

The request for NTP included in the next image version is forwarded. I do not know when a new image will be provided and whether NTP will be included definitely. If you want to have it included now, building the image with NTP included would be the most fast way to have it included ;) Best regards! |

Yes this is an Embedded linux. It is based on the Yocto project. We are using a reference distribution to this Yocto called Poky in version 2.1 (Krogoth). Best regards! |
