could you please give an idea...

I have a problem with bitmap icons displaying in WinCC Runtime V13

When I test my WinCC UI on the ES I have normal picture, e.g. like this - see attached ..

And this is shown properly on the ES at Runtime Simulation

But when I download the project onto the OS the picture looks worse, like this

First I suspected the monitor and the graphic card, I tried to change the monitors over, and tried two different graphic cards. The result is the same. I've also played with WinCC Runtime Settings check-boxes

• adapt screen
• optimized drawing

result is the same.

If someone knows what could be the reason of it?

In my opinion it could be two things:

1. Jpg artifact, does it do the same when you try to use the image as a .png?

2. Scaling. Does the original file have the same pixel dimensions as the size you are using in your project?

1. Probably this is not good that I've attached (just by chance) on jpg and one png file, this has no relation to my system, this is only screen capture images, I've made by chance in different formats. Actual system contains all my bitamps as png as I use transparent background for all my pics. So all the pictures in png and on both stations the same project is downloaded, and the same pictures look different on different stations

2. I suspected scaling as well, it looks like scaling problem, but I don't understand where the scaling is. Both systems have same screen resolution. Moreover I've tried to make a small screen, which definitely requires no scaling (?), and I've played with WinCC settings like "adapt screen", "optimized drawing", "full screen", tried different screen resoultions etc. I also thought that it could deal with some intransparent scaling. But found no influence, same result.

If you are looking to the properties of your graphic within your screen (properties - general) what is the pixel dimension? If it's for instance 100x150px, your graphic must have the same dimensions within "properties - Layout - Position & size". At the "Fit to size" section this can be achieved by checking the "Fit object size to graphic".

But as you said, it works fine in the runtime simulator. By downloading to the OS: do you mean a remote PC station?

I can imagine these artifacts are very frustrating. Especially when you have spend a lot of time in it. In my opinion "Eye Candy" is a big part of a nice project.

Using pictures in it's native resolution has helped to solve the problem.
