Please find attached the files for the subject problem. 1. Configuration Files. 2. HW Listing. 3. All related diagnostics files. a- The problem started on 24th Feb 2011. (The turbine tripped) After site Trouble shooting the profibus cable between the right side CPU-417H and the IM-153 in rack4 was replaced with a new one. b- The problem still continued and then the IM-153 (right side, leg1) was replaced in rack4. (The turbine tripped again) c- The problem still continued and then on 12th April 2011 the complete IM-153 bundle( Two IM-153 and the active backplane) was swaped between rack-4 and rack-7. The system continued to work for a while but on 21st April 2011 the system started giving alarms almost every second. The diagnostic buffer was full so the possible diagnostic file from that time is attahed. The CPU used is 6ES7 417-4HL01-0AB0 and the serial No. is ASE00017772 >PPE+PS-(GF+MFFe)FR < The turbine has not tripped after 12th April 2011 but continues to give alarms.

Hello Kaleem Afzal let me start by commending you for the amount of detailed information that you provided with your post. As for the problem that you experience, I possibly won't have a smoking gun, but will at least try to offer a few things to check. Even though DP Slave 4 & 5 appear most frequently as "disturbed" in your Diag buffer, 7,8,9 & 10 are also found as dropping off the bus. This points towards a general Network problem rather than station specific one. The best thing to do would be to analyse the bus from a signal quality point of view. My preferred tool for this is Procentec's Profitrace (see www.procentec.comfor more), but a 2 channel Oscilloscope (one channel for the A line, one for the B line) will do the job too. As your Profibus is set to run at 12 Mbaud, you will also need to be verymindful about correct installation, equipment selection (not all plugs are for example relased forthisBaudrate) and interference supression measures (12 Mbaud is very susceptible to interference). If you haven't done so already, check your if your installation.equipment selection and interference supression measurescomply with what's described in the SIMATIC NET PROFIBUS Network Manual System Manual(see especially chapter 3.1.4 and Appendix C). If you can live with "slower" update times on your Profibus, the easiest fix would be to bring the baudrate down to1.5 Mbaud or even 500 Kbaud which are far more "forgiving" bus speeds. One last thing: Please check the cable lenght between neighbouring stations. As a minimum you should have at least 1 meter cable between stations (this is not in the manual but rathergood engineering practice and a must have as far as I'm concernedat baudrates of 1.5 Mbaud and higher).
