mraa and spi : Error initialising SPI bus

jancumps Posts: 59 Rating: (9)	I'm trying out SPI in C++, with SDK iot2000-sdk-windows-2.1.2 . As soon as I open the SPI instance, I get this error: terminate called after throwing an instance of 'std::invalid_argument' what(): Error initialising SPI bus The code: Exception occurs on line 2: mraa::Spi* spi; spi = new mraa::Spi(0); Inside the constructor, you can see where it fails: /** * Initialise SPI object using the board mapping to set muxes * * @param bus to use, as listed in the platform definition, normally 0 */ Spi(int bus) { m_spi = mraa_spi_init(bus); if (m_spi == NULL) { throw std::invalid_argument("Error initialising SPI bus"); } } (I've tried to use 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, ;.. etc as parameter.

No: root@iot2000:~# ls /dev/spidev1.0 ls: cannot access '/dev/spidev1.0': No such file or directory There's one entry related to SPI: root@iot2000:~# ls -l /dev \| grep spi crw------- 1 root root 153, 0 Jan 1 2001 spidev169.0 > Can you try running insmod spidev.ko and see what happens? root@iot2000:~# insmod spidev.ko insmod: ERROR: could not load module spidev.ko: No such file or directory

There is a spi 1 character device now: lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 11 Apr 15 18:50 spidev1.0 -> spidev169.0 crw------- 1 root root 153, 0 Apr 15 18:50 spidev169.0 MRAA still throws an error when initialising with mraa:Spi(1). terminate called after throwing an instance of 'std::invalid_argument' what(): Error initialising SPI bus

jancumps Posts: 59 Rating: (9)	It seems that in Image 2.1.2, this symbolic link was missing in the /dev directory? lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 11 Apr 15 18:50 spidev1.0 -> spidev169.0 That's the only difference I could detect between 2.1.2 and 2.1.3.
