Hello Zankkar, The term data sync is usually used in a redundant configuration where the data needs to be 'equalized' between the master and standby system/device. In this context, the tags and messages present in one OS Single station A will be available in its redundant OS Single Station B even if A fails.
With reference to the above section of your question, it is based on project requirement and system architecture. The selected OS Single Station Redundancy comes with 100 POs but in most cases that might be insufficient. in this case, OS RT PO (count relevant license for Runtime process objects) needs to be procured. Also for your information, with SIMATIC NET, there are three license keys (BCE, Industrial Ethernet and S7-Redconnect) which you need to choose based on your configuration: If your PC has standard ethernet network adapters - BCE is used. If you are using CP1623, then the second or third option will be used. (S7-Redconnect is for high availability or redundant CP1623 connections). This explanation might be useful for the redundant OS Server configuration too. The only difference will be OS Server redundancy instead of OS Single station redundancy + OS RT PO as required.
With OS Single Station Redundancy, client connection is not possible. However, with OS Server redundancy it will be possible. For further information on the licenses and configuration limits, you might find the Licenses and Configuration Limits Manual useful. Hope this helps |
