Dear ionut.b, my answer wasn't correct because you use little bit wrong terminology. Normaly you have the WinCC client connected to WinCC server, probably what you describe as "independent client" is WinCC single station. So than forget my suggestion about servers. First you have to think what everythink should be redundant, the PLC is because of H. If also communication should be fullyredundant, you should use two CP1613 per PC and four CP443-1 per PLC (two CPs for one CPU). The topology you can find in brochure which is asattachment. Hi ionut.b, In your configuration you'll need 2 single stations, so that makes 2 RC or RT licenses, with the adequate number of tags and archive tags. For the redundancy you'll only need 1 license, since it takes one license per redundant pair (your 2 single stations form a pair). Note that if you have redundant PLC's you'll need redconnect, CP1613, and all for both stations. External tags will be in both stations. They'll be logged in both stations. The redundancy pack will provide a database synchronism, which means if station 1 fails (it won't be logging data for a certain period of time, so it's database is incomplete), once it comes back online, station 2 will automatically synchonize the databases, so that station 1 has all the data. So with this, you ensure that both stations have the same database, and that as long as one of the stations is always on, the databases will be complete. Internal tags will also be synchronized with the redundancy pack. External tags do not need to be replicated, since both stations will connect to the PLC's directly.
