Dear YogendraG, see the following manual on page 144: SIMATIC S7-300 S7-300 Module dataAs you can see in the drawing, you have 4 groups of outputs. For each group you have 8 DO´s with 0,5A = 4A with it´s own power supply(L1+/1M;L2+/2M;L3+/3M;L4+/4M). This is the current which goes through the module to the actors. It also depends on the mounting and the ambient temperature, how much current is allowed per group to be save for overheating. The Current consumption of 110mA +160mA is what the module needs for it self to work.hope this helps, regards, |

yes, thats what I think too. The current on backplanebus is cominig out of the CPU, and its voltage is 5V. The terms in the technical data of the module with the current from backplane is only for calculation of the power consumption on backplane bus. You can read it in SIMATIC S7-300 CPU 31xC and CPU 31x: Installation, chapter4.5:
The CPU makes out of its own supply of 24V the 5V and runs the backplanebus. So the current on the backplane is allready within the power consumtion of the CPU. This is one reason why the current of the CPU is stated from 150mA to 750mA, because it depends on what moduls are running on the backplanebus. ---> every current on the backplane is irrelevant for his consumption |

Thanks all of you. Yes I am using same power supply for module and CPU.So While calculating Power Consumption I don't need to consider 5V current consumption. It is already included in CPU. This last question regarding DO Module. Power consumption of DO module is not clear. DO module Doubts:-DO module is divided into 4 group and each group has its own supply like (L1+/1M; L2+/2M; L3+/3M; L4+/4M) and per group current capacity is 4 A.I have following question please help me to understand.1. I can drive 4A current per group is it right??2. This 4A current is totally depend on Load which is connected to DO. is it right ???3. While selecting Power supply or Calculating power consumption I need to consider this 4A current. is it right??Please help me to calculate proper current consumption of DO module.Regards,Yogendra G |
