problem with ethernet adapter-no connection with an S7 1200

luciferC4 Silver Member Joined: 1/25/2006 Last visit: 11/27/2025 Posts: 257 Rating: (62)	HI, I read several posts where colleagues in online access part of TIA haven't got ethernet adapter (only teleservice or similar..). In my case, In online access I see all installed adapters including ethernet adapter. But I couldn't access to plc S7 1200 via that adapter. I tried to acces in initial acces to plc (the first download program in a new plc) and after when I downloaded program via other PC where is installed TIA portal, too, when I adjust IP address. IP is standard, default 192.168.0.1. Version of TIA portal is professional V11 SP2 update 5 (both Step 7 and Wincc). Have anybdy idea what could be problem. On the other side, ethernet card work because, I used it in office network (for mail, internet, intranet). This is the first time to happen like this. Maybe 2 weeks ago I used this adapter to connect to S7 300 but from Step 7 V5.5 and Ihaven't got problems. By the way, network adapter is: Intel 8257LM Gigabit network adapter. Thanks.

The other thing, I used the other PC and establish communication without any problem. I doubt that problem is somewhere outside of TIA portal software...

Problem is: I used PC with window 7 64-bit OS. I think that S7 1200 tools for 32bit OS. For information, from CMD (command prompt) I can ping this PLC from my PC!! I really don't know what's going on!

By the way, yesterday, I wanted to check TCPIP communication via Step 7 V5.5 SP2 on one machine where is as communication processor is used CP 343-1 Lean. But, I couldn't establishcommunication. SO dounting..
