kodbegemod, are you using failsafe I/O? F channel drivers have an acknolegement option that can be enabled/disabled on the block. |

I have exactly same problem (mentioned here: https://support.industry.siemens.com/tf/ww/en/posts/addfem-uncertain-inputs-problem/190376/?page=0&pageSize=10 ) just with different I/O module. But in my case generating @plans didn't help.... Looks like this problem is related with more than one PCS7 version |

Hi all, I faced similar issue as well. This is quite weird. I believe my hardeare config and redundancy IM module do not problem, but the mode showed 16#4xxxxxxx. This caused a bad signal generated and cause the mon block to have bad communication. My solution was 1. Download hardware again (sometimes solve the issues. But sometimes not) 2. Set the "mode" input to forcing active. Force good signal 16#8xxxxxx (i lazy to troubleshoot siemens' bugs). 100% working. (Forcing available after v8.0 or 8.1 i guess. To enable, full compulacomp needed. Go to component view, s7 program folder, chart, right click, tick support forcing) Hope it helps. |

Thanks for your help. I am not using APL Library. But how do you do that? see requirements for the HW and update Basic Library? |

I got it :D You are using 7.1 but nevertheless you are still using some Basis Library. In your case update can be for example this: https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/ww/en/view/43713590 Here You will find most of updates of Basis Libraries: https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/ww/en/view/109480136 Now second question is more difficult to answer - how you now what is your Library requirements for HW... Usually it should be written in HW (modules) manual. I would say that best idea is to use newest update which is available since more probably you will have newer hardware than software version anyway. First step - Installed Software - check which version of Basis Library you have already installed on your ES and if those blocks are used in your Project (same blocks in offline folder as you have in Library). |

I think is siemens module block having some issues instead. Sometimes i prefer not to use their channel driver block. I do not know why sometimes the signal is good and sometimes not. If i were to get the signals directly from the profibus gsd, i will create my own channel driver block. For me , the main purpose of channel driver block is to have the simulation function, hold last value and evaluate the signal when the communication lost. So what i will do is, create a function block to evaluate the input status (if all input word is zero, set the output to bad signal 16#0. If the input word is not zero, then map it) , and hold last value when the signal is bad. (I do this when I really got no solution for the bad mode 16#4xxxxxx and do not want to force the input) |
