Hello userfromportugal; It would be a pleasure to help you out, but you need to provide us with more information about your system if you expect a decent answer. Is this a Siemens PLC? If so, which family of CPU, what programming software, which Profibus interface card are you using? If this is not a Siemens PLC, which manufacturer and model number, which Profibus configuration software...? Normally, in any system that deploys a Profibus network, each slave must be accompanied by its "gsd file", a text file provided by the manufacturer of the device that allows the Profibus master to know how much (and what type) of data will be exchanged cyclically over Profibus. This gsd file needs to be integrated in the Profibus configuration software of the Profibus master (the PLC). When the slave is integrated in the Profibus configurator of the master and then selected for deployment, the Profibus configurator selects I/O addresses for each slave that ithe master will use to exchange data with the slave. These are the addresses you will use to evaluate this slave in your program, as if they were I/O connected to the PLC's main rack. Now, how you will exchange these same values with an HMI will depend on how the HMI is configured to communicate with the PLC. The Siemens HMI can be setup as Profibus partners, so they will exchange the data through the Profibus master (PLC) using the I/O addresses mentioned above, If it is a third-party HMI, we need to know what brand and model, and you must tell us how it is configured to talk to the existing PLC and slaves...
