Hello dre; See this link for an overview of Danfoss VLT Profibus-DP communication: profibus VLT Note that as part of the drive configuration, in Parameter 904 of the drive you have to select a PPOx number. The PPOx structure is a way to determine how many words are exchanged between the PLC master and the drive (it is part of the Profidrive profile in Profibus-DP). It also determines the content of each word exchanged. The manual explains the PPOx options on page 21. On page 29 you will see a description of the Control word usage to start and stop the motor using Profibus-DP: Control word/Status word. The following bit pattern sets all necessary start commands: 0000 0100 0111 1111 = 047F Hex.* 0000 0100 0111 1110 = 047E Hex.* 0000 0100 0111 1111 = 047F Hex. Note: write the 3 hexa values one after the other to the drive CTW address in order to start the motor; the motor controller must see a rising edge at the LSB of CTW in order to start (passage from F to E and back to F provides the equivalent of a rising edge signal). Quickstop: 0000 0100 0110 1111 = 046F Hex. Stop: 0000 0100 0011 1111 = 043F Hex.
