Question about select object in symbolic io field....

How could I make a symbolic io field with a text list which containt (start, stop)...from symbolic io field i select start my motor run..and I select stop my motor stop.... I try create a text list with (start , stop) then each of them i add a tag with DB1.DBX 4.0 and DB1 DBX 4.1 (start and stop button) ....my motor I add a tag with Q0.0...but I couldn't control when select start or stop....The output of PLC just fhash at Q0.0 and stop ... Please help me ! Thank you very much !

In symbolic IO filed .....Event --> I select onfinishinput -> setbit DB1 DBX 4.0 and Setbit DB1DBX 4.1 (this bit is normal closing button in PLC)... When i select start motor run ! And when i select stop it still run (it work fine when i use two buttton start, stop without using symbolic IO filed ).... Pleae help me !

Try as tag for symbolic field the DB1.DBW4 as integer: for DBX4.0 you select: 1 = ON for DBX4.1 you select: 2 = OFF Also feel free to upload your project to forum, than we can give you more hints.

My reply here is you already solved the problem and your code provided should work if the symbolic IO field is done correcty. If problem still happen, may be other network in PLC program write inDB1.DBX 4.0 or DB1 DBX 4.1 or even in Q0.0. So, you have to use cross reference to check. Monitoring using VAT will help. Open a VAT while you are changing the selection of symbolic IO field and see what is happening withDB1.DBX 4.0, DB1 DBX 4.1 and Q0.0. Hope this helps.
