Rebuilding a backup P350

gpm1976 Member Joined: 4/28/2015 Last visit: 9/14/2015 Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	Dear Forum i am trying to source a P350 (6AU1350-2AH21-1BE1), as my current PC is starting to have issues. Good news is i have a working image back up of the Operating System. (1) I am currently having a problem trying to source this exact P350, so can anyone advise what later versions of the P350 i could restore this image over and get this to work without upgrading the program. If not able to provide product codes, even some general advice on what i would need to look out for. (2) In the meantime i am also considering restoring this image on to a standard "off the shelf" PC to have as a backup in case of a disaster, i have the image installed on a standard PC and am looking to get the correct isoProfibus card installed. Do you see any problems with this as a disaster fallback machine. My main concern is that this standard PC will be taking in a standard 240v AC power supply, and converting this to 12v DC, but i know that the P350 takes in a 24v DC supply which is coming off a SITOP DC UPS Module. Do you know if this would work or would the isoProfibus card just not operate? any advice in response to (1) and (2) would be gratefully received thanks Graeme

ChristophD Grandmaster-Expert Joined: 5/12/2006 Last visit: 4/8/2020 Posts: 17618 Rating: (2134)	Hello, 1) this is the latest P350 HW, no successor available, but you can order this HW as spare part from SIEMENS. 2) if i understand correctly you will runing the P350 on a niormal PC System Forget it, is not possible. First the SW have a HW Check , if you not running on a SIEMENS IPC Based System -> Fail The SIMOTION P350 HW have a specialiced BIOS and PCI Interrupt Config to guarantee that the mandatory RealTime Parts are running correctly on the system. On a normal PC is very difficult to arange this settings. Other point is the HW Ressources like COM Ports / Grapgic Adapter etc. for all this you need in a normal PC special drives which not included in the SIMOTION Image , and the dependency between this HW, Drives and SIMOTION SW are not clear. nexxt is that you need a PCI Slot for the ISOProfibus Board, on a actual PC no PCI is designed. and is not really clear which PCI Standard you need fpr the Board (3.3V or 5V?)
