HIstory shows that there are lots of people against new developement, but in the end they will learn to love what they get.

I have been in the game since 1986, programming Siemens S5 masively - large systems with an PG 675, and later PG 685, and since that time it has always got better and better.

I have used TIA since version 12 which was not good, but version 13 is in my opinion the best Siemens tool until now, and it works well. It integrates lots of those tools that S7 classic had acces to but was lousy integrated. 

S7 classic had the same long road of improvements as TIA had, so its not news.

There are a few things on the "Wish list" wich is missing from S7 classic, but they will come too.

Give the programming guys a good feed back, and it will be included as well.

So please, stop whining, dry your eyes, and be positive. 

TIA 13 is a very good product.

Like others I started many moons ago with Step 5  then as time moved on I had Step 7, ProTool, WinCC Flexible (arrrgh), Simotion (starting at V2.0, double arrrgh!), WinCC SCADA, Safety Integrated then I was an early adopter and went into TIA Portal at V10 (treble arrrgh!!).  I am now a seasoned veteran on V10, V11, V12 and V13 and I am looking forward to V14.

When I sit in front of my PC with a task to do I have two choices, I can lament how bad the software is and wish I was using Step 7 classic or I can roll up my sleeves and get on with it.  I must admit my sleeves are mostly rolled up and a lot of the time I am seething because I can't do something in TIA I could in Step 7.  I have to push on, I don't have to do the work, I can always move to another platform but there is no fun in that.

Roll on September 30th 2016 and the release of TIA v14, I look forward to some of the new (old) features that are hailed as advancements and I look forward to getting the functionality I was promised at V10.  I am already doing things easily in TIA that are were not so good in S7 Classic so I expect that in V14 I will get more.  I know that ST on a ladder rung is coming, I like that feature at least.  I just wish the Portal would stop and go back to the functional layout of previous tools, that way we can maximise multiple monitors rather than straining our eyes or clicking our mouse to premature death opening and closing windows.

Then it will be roll on February 2017 for the launch of TIA v14 SP1, then on to September for TIA v15.  With TIA 15 will Siemens release a Field PG with a 57" wide screen free with that version!

This wheel will keep on turning until the next generation of CPU's is launched requiring another tool then it's back to the beginning again.

Negativity is always kill ourself only. Think always positive.

Yes it was horrible with V10.5/ V11/V12. But since V13 is realsed TIA portal is quit stable. One more reason for fast changevis thats windows platform aslo changing. Main benfit is integrated data base and integrat diagnostic. If you see the TIA portal move, its nothing but gateway for Digitilization.

Cloud connectivity is main key role for V14. And once you get V14 then you will come to know that performance is very improved.

For every user one thing i want to highlite , upgrade the existing  max project to V13 sp1 to ready for V14 is min criteria.
