Ok, so for a S7-1500 and a RF380R I'd suggest to use the PROFINET communication module RF180C (see attached screenshot) since you just can't connect the reader directly to the PLC. You will only have to configure the PLC and communication module in TIA Portal. Just plug reader into the module. To control the reader I suggest to use the "Ident blocks". Here's an example on how to use the blocks: |

Ok, with S7-12xx you'll need the RF120C communication module. And here is the how-to example: The transponder doesn't matter. Which ever RF3xxT it is, it'll work. |

No doesn't work. The green led on the 380R continue to blink. Can't understand why. |

Did you call Reset_Reader? What are the outputs of the reset block? |

My code is fine then. So the problem is the cable ? How to test it ? Unfortunately I don't have a spare cable here. |

Might be the cable or the reader. Do you have a spare reader to cross check that? |

Attached you'll find the project I used. I basically just swapped the PLC. Even though I had a RF310R it also worked with RF380R in the TO configuration. So your problem must be caused by the cable or the reader. Edit: Is your RF180C shining green or blinking green? Attachment18.056 Carico e Scarico Manuale OP45 siemens.zip (233 Downloads) |

Ok. In this case it must be reader/cable. |
