Once it is created I write a value every 30 minutes. 1. If the Cpu had a power failure, would i need to write a Open sequence in order to continue to log files? 2. I have configured CPU with time of day gmt - 5 Bogota, Quito, etc, but the time-stamp is always in gmt 0. Why does this happen? What do I have to set in order to have the time stamp according to my time zone? 3. According to S7-1200 system manual, I should be able to erase datalog files through web server, but once I enter the web server I can only download the file and check recent logs, but I am not able to erase log files. Why does this happen? I am using cpu with firmware 2.2 and step 7 professional v11 sp 2. if the code is needed i can provide.

I think I have read in the manual that all time stamps are in GMT 0 and that you need to adjust it "on your own" when you handle the data. However I could not find it in the manual after a quick search, so I could be wrong on this. 3. You need to be "logged in" to get the option to delete log-files. Its the same if you want to force variables...

If you turn off or stop the plc (cpu), your plc logic should open the log file, then set a status bit "log file opened" so you can use that to enable the write log block. Think of the log file as a file on your computer. You do not reboot your computer and start typing expecting it to suddenly start logging your keystrokes to your file? Treat the log file similarly. Open it, write to it - and when it is full, eitherclose it and make a new one, or allow it to overwrite the oldest data with new data.
