Hi!, I try to ping from cmd window to the PLC SIM V14 through NetToPLCSim, but at the moment is not possible. I'll check several solutions and the manual and apparently all is ok. https://sourceforge.net/p/nettoplcsim/discussion/912717/thread/cfc69c86/?page=1 Is it possible to connect with PLC SIM V14SP1?. Can you give some detailed manual for this soft?. I change Firewall, PC/PG conf, some things more but it is no possible to communicate Do you have any idea?. I have to test a Scada system and this month I have no physical PLC to test... and It seems very interesting for simulate my SCADA behaviour with differente PLC models, I'm going to work with safety PLC (1200 series) right now. Thanks for your help. |

Hi, it depends on the protocol and the access mode your Scada is using. If your client is using the classic absolute address mode ("not optimized") in the S7-1200/1500, then it does work with Plcsim V14 and Nettoplcsim. You can check if this mode is ussed, whenever you see addresses like DB1.DBD0, M10.0, DB100.DBW100 and so on. Check that you have enabled "PUT/GET access" in hardware settings of the PLC if you want to use this mode, and the DBs you want to get access to are set to "not optimized". If you have a client application which uses the new symbolic channel, then this does not work with Plcsim V14 anymore. But it has worked with Plcsim V13. For me it was a big plus for Siemens with classic Plcsim / Nettoplcsim, that you can do all tests with your client application and the PLC in your office. With TIA it all is now very complicated, and with every servicepack something is not working as it has worked before :( |

Hi!, thanks for your help. My SCADA works with absolute address mode ("not optimized"). PUT/GET is enabled (I have read the manual of NetToPLCSim several tiemes :-), before ask). I'm usign TIA PORTAL V14 SP1. I think this is the problem. Do you have any suggestions? At the moment I've tried to a simple ping from my PC to the PLCSIM V14 SP1 and is not working. My cable connection is phisicaly connected, and the ip of this adaptor is in the same range of the PLC SIM.. I tired this weekend in Win10 and Win7, with enable and disable Firewall... and nothing happens when I did the ping to PLCSIM. After ping works I`ll tried to connect the SCADA. |

Hi Miguel, remember that Nettoplcsim uses the IP-Address of the PC where it is running on. You can reach Plcsim only under the IP-Address shown in Nettoplcsim under "Network address". For example: You've configured a PLC with IP 10.0.0.10, but the PC with Nettoplcsim has IP 192.168.1.100, then Plcsim is also only reachable only under 192.168.1.100. You have to change the IP address in your Scada for testing to 192.168.1.100, or if you want to keep this settings, then you need to change the IP of your PC with Nettoplcsim to 10.0.0.10. |

Hello Miguel-Angel Im not a pro in NetToPLCSimbut perhaps it has something to do with PLCSim V14 SP1. Its because also the Simens internal communicatin protocols have problems with the new simulation in V14. look here: https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/de/en/view/109742764 Bye Murof |

Good monrnig again, My actual configuraction is the following: Ethernet connection settings (cable conencted if it isn't connect there is not possiblilty to choose in NetToPLCSIM): Windows Configuration IP V4: 192.168.0.87. -> Is connected to Internet. PLCSIM IP: 192.168.0.208. Then my NetToPLCSIM configration is the following: Network IP address: 192.168.087 PLCSim IP Address: 192.168.0.208. PLCSim RAck/Slot 0/1 Enable TSAP-> Disable After this I try to ping form command window to 192.168.0.208, and the answer is Device is not rechechable. Ping to 192.168.0.87-> obviously all is ok. I am very grateful for your support- |

I've just made a test, and it's still working. My environment: - Windows 7 Professional 64 Bit As client application I have used the libnodave test-programs, which reads some values from marker area and from DB1. I don't have Windows 10 to test if it's a problem with this OS-version. Pingin the plcsim IP address through nettoplcsim doesn't work. The new and only one IP address you can reach Plcsim is the Network IP address. The Plcsim IP for Nettoplcsim is only used for internal communication with Plcsim. |
