Hello Naina I'm not too sure if I understand your question correctly, so here's some general info: You can generally have I/O's in the central rack (the CPU rack) in a Software redundant system. These are however then so called "unilateral I/O's" and only belong to the CPU to which they are connected (in other words, these central I/O's are NOT part of the software redundant systemand can NOT be seen or used by the partner CPU). So while it may be possible to have a Software redundant system with only central I/O's, it would be a pretty pointless excercise (it would be no diffferent than having two seperate CPU's with their own I/O's and a communication link between them). If you require I/O's to be part of the software redundant system (i.e. the I/O's are available forboth CPU's) you MUST use the ET200M DP stations with the redundant IM153's.
