Dear Lovins, If you want connect HMI with ET 200M then you have to use Y-Link or profibus repeater for that. See point no. 4 "Panel connection to H CPUs via two repeaters" of below link: How do you connect a panel to a SIMATIC H station? |

Dear Lovins , maybe there is a missunderstanding here. Your HMI's will not communicate with your ET200M's, they will communicate with your central S7-400H only. But that's ok, while all remote stations are connected to your central CPU's as well. It's just like a bus, with all devices on it. You should just watch out that you never loose the connection to your central CPU's. If you need to have totally independent stations, youhaveto put CPU'sin each remote location. Regards. |

Dear All, Sorry for my mistake that I wrote to communicate HMI on Y-Link. It is only possible way to use Repeaters only. |

No problem SolutionFinder, I do mistakes as well and try my best to learn from them. But it's a nice ideato have a devicelikea Y-LINK which works with HMI's as well, rather using thisrepeater stuff. I hopeR&D people are reading this post as well. Regards. |

Hello, Let me disagree with you in this regards because of two reasons. Reason1: The cost of Y-LINK with ET200M bundle will more then Repeater cost. Isn't it? Reason2: When you do not connect any device on Y-LINK, you cannot download the hardware to CPU. In case let us you configured Hmi on Y-LINK and if Hmi got damage then in such case you will get SF On CPU and on ET200M as well Which will not be the Case in Repeaters |
