Hello Avatar; Below you will find a description of the 2 safety modules you are planning to use. These are Safety modules (recognizable by the yellow band in the front of the modules;).This shade of yellow is internationally recognized as indicating a Safety module or equipment. To integrate these modules as part of a Safety design, as per ISO 13849-1 (PLa to PLe) or IEC 61508 (SIL 1 to SIL 3), you must first have a Safety PLC, such as a S7-315F-2PN/DP; you msut also have an additional software package named Distributed Safety (for Simatic Manager) or S7-Safety v.1x (for TIA Portal). Safety Light Curtains have specialized dual outputs that must be connected to a Safety Input module; these OSSD signals must be evaluated in the Safety module for "discrepancy" (there is a very limited amount of time where both signals must match when an intrusion is declared) or monitoring their response to pulse tests done in the Safety module.. This cannot be achieved with a non-safety input module.
