socket communication PC with S7-300

Brano Posts: 5 Rating: (0)	Hello everybody, Is it possible to build socket communication between PC (C# socket SERVER application) and Simatic S7-300 (CPU 314 withCP 343-1 Lean)? How could I configure PLC as a CLIENT? Is it better to use AG_SEND/AG_RECEIVE blocks or can I useTCON, TDISCON, TRECV, TSEND blocks (I'm having suspicion they aren't compatible with my model of CPU)? The problem that I'm having is that I followed steps in TCP-communication tutorial on this page, but I cannot make it work. Data simply aren't moving.. Do yoy guys have any tips or examples how to make it work? Thanx a lot!

Fafner Silver Member Joined: 3/20/2013 Last visit: 11/6/2025 Posts: 676 Rating: (44)	hi, to receive data of different length the best way is to use the T-communication blocks (TCON, TSEND; TRCV; TDISCON). With a CP you can not use them and with a PLC without PN interface you can not use them, too. With the CP you have to configure a connection in Netpro (network view) and then you can send and receive data via AG_SEND/AG_RCV. Where is your problem? You followed which instruction? Do you have already block calls which give you some error numbers?

Pittiplatsch Posts: 1368 Rating: (128)	Hello Brano, if you want to establish a TCP communication between PLC and PC and PLC should be CLIENT, please note to switch off the Firewall on the PC! If PC = Client (and establish the communication) it is no problem. But if the PLC establish the connection to the PC and the Firewall is on, then there could be a problem. Have fun!

Brano Posts: 5 Rating: (0)	Hi, Currently I'm using AG_SEND/AG_RCV blocks and those give me error number: 0x8183 when I'm trying to send something to the server. In Netpro I'm having chcecked Active connection establishment (for PLC as a client right?) and Adresses: 192.168.0.1:1060 forlocaland 192.168.0.32:1060 for remote partner. Firewall on the PC is off (but is it possible to make some exception for PLC's IP when I want firewall ON but also have communication running?). Brano Hi Brano, the 0x8183 is the "no configuration or the ISO/TCP service has not yet started on the Ethernet CP" You configured in Netpro /network view your connection? and you loaded it in to your CPU? You need to configure the connection depending on the socket you are establishing (TCP i guess?)
