Hi, I am facing a problem with installing Step 7 Basic v 10.5 software. I will briefly explain what happened so that you can get a clearer view of the error. Initially I installed Step 7 Basic v 10.5 without any errors. I also started programming the CPU 1212C PLC. After a couple of days, the software stopped working. The error was that whenever I opened the software it said "The Application has encountered a problem and needs to close. Would you like to restart the application?" (Attached image 1.jpg)The options given were Restart and Close. When I chose to press Restart, it would show the same error message again. When I pressed Close and then tried to start the application, it would give me the same error. I thought something must have gone wrong with a few files. So I decided to uninstall the application completely and reinstall it again. When I tried to reinstall, there was an error message which said - "An error occurred during setup" (Attached image 2.jpg) and the only thing I could do was close the setup. After that I went into the registry of my computer and deleted folders in LocalMachine/Siemens/Automation/TIAv10.5 (I don't remember the exact name but it was only of Step7 Basic.) I tried to reinstall the software after that. But I got the same error as I had previously encountered.I am attaching the Log File which was created during the Installation, Please let me know what to do. Thanks in advance for the help. P.S. Hi Vinay L, I saw in your log file that yours operation system is a "Microsoft Windows NT 5.1.2600 Service Pack 3", the TIA Portal 10.5 cannot to be instaled at this operation system, the requirements to install the TIA Portal 10.5 are http://support.automation.siemens.com/BR/view/en/42100716. Do a uninstall of all .Net Frameworks and reinstall them. Could be a kind of .Net problem. |

Strange. I am not quite sure how the Operating System was recognized as Windows NT . Because I have a Windows XP operating system with Service Pack 3. Attaching a screenshot. @TomDeWou - Thanks for the suggestion. I will keep this in mind. Iwilldo that as a last resort as the .NET framework is being utilized by a lot of other softwares. As was said earlier, the software was running fine for a couple of days. The only thing that changed was maybe a Siemens IT HelpDesk runsecurity update on our systems. |
