String Split in S7-1500

Good day all.

I have a problem with the following I need to split a string that looks like the following.

P0000000001,108756,Naartjie 500ml,105,6,2017-01-28,2018-01-27,Inbound Lift,0,1,0;

I have "," that separate the strings and ";" at the end.

I have been trying to use the split function in TIA but with no luck.

I think I have been doing something wrong with the variants but I am not sure.

this should be really simply but for some reason I can not get it to work.

I want to split each string section into its individual strings.

I am using TIA V13 SP1 Up 9

As you can see it returns an error 16#8254.

It says in the online help invalid data type of the second parameter.

I have not worked with variant before so not even sure if I am doing this correctly.

Not checked this, but I'd say that for RecSeparator and EndSeparator the function expects CHAR or WCHAR datatype.

Next thing - SrcArray expects an array of CHAR/WCHAR not a STRING/WSTRING. There's a built-in function for this conversion.
