The ABB ACS550 drive does have a Profibus adapter option. If the the 505 CPU has the built in profibus connector, you could connect via profibus. billwest |

Hello Ahmet; Start with the information available here, the documents shpw how to use the TI/Simatic 505 as a profibus-DP master: PROFIBUS configuration with SIMATIC TI 505 TI 545 cpu mast. s7315 2pn/dp sla. profibus com. example pro. |

Hello Ahmet; I agree, the 545-1101 is an very old CPU, and I do not thnk you could add the Profibus-DP master onboard card to the CPU. But I do not know how you could talk to the ACS550 drive directly from the 545-1101 ports. Here are the protocols supported by the drive: ACS550-01/U1 User's Manual ABB ACS550 drive communication protocols: · Modbus RTU (embedded) · fieldbus adapter (FBA) – With one of the optional FBA modules in the drive’sexpansion slot 2, the drive can communicate to a control system using one of thefollowing protocols: – PROFIBUS-DP – LONWORKS® – Ethernet (Modbus/TCP, EtherNet/IP™, EtherCAT, PROFINET IO,POWERLINK) – CANopen – DeviceNet™ – ControlNet™ – CC-Link. None of these protocols is availableusing the 505 CPU's ports. Even the simplest of the protocols (Modbus RTU) would require the addition of a Modnim (Modbus Network Interface Module)card in the rack. Here is a link to the TI 505 Modbus manual:MODNIM User Manual (505-5184) Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |
