TIA portal HMI screen crash when adding text box

salman_71 Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	Recently i installed TIA portal v15 on win 10 64bit . Every things seem to work fine except when i want to edit HMI screen when ever i try to add text box program crash immediately . I tried updating TIA portal trough UPDATER software . nothing changed. I also installed TIA portal v14 beside TIA portal v15 after i failed to fix the problem and i have exactly the same problem with this software too. How can i fix this problem? It might be your Win10 version is too high even for the latest version / update of V15. V14 SP1 and Win10 is even more trouble. For the moment, assume your Win10 build is not above 1803 and you installed Siemens provided patch to allow build 1803 of Win10. Now, as a test, before doing anything with your project, make a copy and work with the copy. With that copy, add a second HMI to your project. Connect it to your 1500 PLC. Now add a text box. If it still crashes, create a new project and add just the HMI and then add a textbox. If it still crashes, I am out of ideas for the moment. If you have project language other than German or English, make sure you also have English (or German) as a second language included in your project configuration. I do not know why, but it seems portal behaves better when one of those languages is included as a project language. salman_71 Recently i installed TIA portal v15 on win 10 64bit . Screen shot and crash report attached. My windows version is 1803 and i don't know if Siemens patch for this build is installed by updater it self or i should install it manually. If it is the later please provide a link to that patch. The problem is not about specific project it happens all the time i want to add text box to HMI no matter if there is CPU beside or just HMI and it happens for all models of HMI devices listed in the menu. My project language is English , i also change system language to English.(I did this before posting the issue )

0_Einstein Grandmaster-Expert Joined: 7/7/2010 Last visit: 12/19/2025 Posts: 16321 Rating: (2520)	My mistake. The Siemens patch only allows build 1709 to install. Build 1703 is the latest supported Win 10 version for V15 of Portal (without the above mentioned patch found here).

Trying to help, Hi Willybong and thank you for helping. At first i just installed TIA PORTAL v15 after i disappointed to fix it i try installing TIA v14 (at that time i assumed it could be a more stable version).
