Hello to everyone!

I had the same error: database context does not exist or is invalid.. after computer restart with not properly closed project.

I have tried the solution with SQL WinCC (stopping starting) - didn't work for me.

Finally I found, that my project catalog is missing few database files.

that was "ProjectName".mdf, "ProjectName".ldf and "ProjectNameRT".mdf.

After copying these files from project backup archive to the project catalog - I was able to open and run project again.

I had problem like that. All I did was:
1. Go to Microsoft SQL Server 2005->Configuration Tools->SQL Server Configuration Manager
2.In SQL Server 2005 Services->SQL Server (WINCC) in Start Mode set Manual and then stop the service.
3. Start your WinCC Project
4. If success then close project and set service back to automatic.
5. Start WinCC Project again.
Hope somebody can fix the problem whit this clue.

This problem has surfaced yesterday and was going through the threads. I too faced the same issue" database context does not exist ".

I followed the following steps.

1. Run->services.msc

2. Stopped SQL server and changed to Manual.

3, Restarted PC and project opened successfully reading values.

4. Repeated step 1 and changed SQL server to Automatic.

I have e project by PCS7 V8.2 and it's using WinCC 7.4.

I have 6 STAHL Ex HMI Panel and when i do PLC->Download for OS I saw same error 

"database context does not exist or is invalid"

so did saw any poeple same error by winCC 7.4 by PCS7 V8.2?

and didn't work solution in this pages ( old commend ).
