Older versions could not be opened / converted directly. The alternative in this case is to use TIA V13 SP1 to open the original project, converting it to this version before use TIA V14. By opening older projects in TIA V13 SP1 a message will ask you to convert it, is just a question to confirm this message. TIA V13 SP1 (as trial version) could be downloaded like indicated in the FAQ https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/us/en/view/89331880. It is also recommended to install also the last update for TIA V13 (https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/ww/en/view/109311724).

Now I am confused with something that is written elsewhere... https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/de/en/view/109740340 A project upgrade to TIA Portal V14 is performed exclusively on the basis of TIA Portal V13 SP1 projects (last update recommended). Compatibility mode is not supported. From your note, may I understand that currently earlier versions projects needs to be converted by TIA V13 SP1 Update 9 before it can be upgraded / opened (compatibility mode) to TIA V14? Thank you for your attention. w

Automation Program Posts: 116 Rating: (2)	Hello, If I understood right.... We need to install TIA V14 and TIA V13 SP1 to open older versions on the same PC. Also we need to install TIA V11 SP2 to open ".app V11" 1-Is it possible? 2-What about Upload/Download different versions? 3-older HW?

I already tried opening/converting V14 made project with V13 SP1, not possible as expected. Also I tried to find a way to save as/convert a V14 project to V13 SP1 or whatever older inside of V14, but didn't find a way. Is this somehow possible?
