I have an S7-300 and I am also trying to get a counter to simply count pulses and give me an output when the preset value is reached. The S_CU that I am trying to use doesn't seem to work that way. As far as the instructions go, the CU input is for the pulse (I believe), the S is for the bit to allow the counter to start counting. When it reaches the preset i would expect the output to go true, however, it goes true with the first pulse and every pulse after that. The output count toggles from 0-1. Hi, I think (but i'am not sure..) PV is use in order to preset the counter that mean when the SET input is triggered the value (in BCD) of PV is load as counting value. For example if PV is 100, 100 is load as a counting value as the Set value "S" is triggered so the counting start or continue from this value. For your application you can use a "comparator" in addition with the counter in order to make comparison between the counting value and the value" to reach". Don't mix up between BCD and other format, make sure you value don't reach 999, the counter have a limit so check that before programming. Regards |

PV is useless for count up counter.
