Trying to make a function call

Tamiltechy Posts: 7 Rating: (0)	Hi there, I'm using TIA V14 for programing ET200S CPU. I have successfully compiled the program and I'm not facing any errors. But when i try to make a function call, I'm unable to make certain function calls. While selecting the particular function call i receive a warning messages as below. Warning: The object contains access to global data blocks. Warning: The block contains direct access to inputs, outputs, bit memories, indirect access to the registry or indirect access to external memory areas that are unknown at the time of compilation. 0_Einstein Grandmaster-Expert Joined: 7/7/2010 Last visit: 12/19/2025 Posts: 16321 Rating: (2520)	Without a screenshot of your function block, it would be difficult to tell you what to do other than to not directly access inputs, not to directly access outputs, not to directly access M-bit memory (M100.0), or in some way indirectly read memory unavailable at compile time. FYI, usually we use local tags inside a block and pass parameters to/from the block so we can create generic blocks that work no matter what system we throw at them. We drop in the block, add the inputs and outputs, and it only changes what it says it will change, and does not need to know anything other than what is passed into it. I have used the OB1 for just to make function calls i have made the entire program using only several function calls. I have made a separate function calls for I/O's but im able to call those function calls. I'm facing problems only in these kind of blocks. JankoJaridicSlayer Posts: 17 Rating: (3)	Hi, try to insert two obs 121 and 122. If there is any problem with accessing internal memories or peripheral the PLC should go in STOP. After that go in diagnostics window and there should be a message with what is wrong... Hope this helps... Janko
