I'm a student of the 6th year of electromechanics in secondary school and for my integrated test I'm making a vending machine and we are using a USB barcode scanner. 

I'm having issues with connecting the USB-scanner to a memory in TIA portal. 

I'm using a SIMATIC HMI KTP700 basic and a PLC s7-1200 AC/DC/RLY.

Hello Robbe.

A USB type barcode scanner connected to a KTP700 Basic panel will act like a USB keyboard. Search in the support pages for "KTP700 barcode" to find possible details.

An active ASCII entry field will have to be active while making a scan for this keyboard behaviour to work for you. Some scanners allow an automatic "enter" button command at the end of the sent string. This will be nice to have to automatically enter the string.

Full disclosure: I have not personally worked with this configuration.
