I have configured two Named connections between the same S7 400 communication processor and the WinCC app; the first Named connection will be ISO communication and the second Named connection will be TCP . During compilation of the OS i will choose one from the two named connections and in WInCC i will configure redundancy between the two named connections. is it will work? Hi Sowma, no this is not possible. I gave you the reason in this threat: Even the one and only PCS 7 redundancy possibilities are listed in that threat. Why you do not go for any of these solutions? Regards |

The reason for you to do this was because you want to make it redundant and when ISO connection is lost, that TCP exists. But this is not possible. If you want to use fault tolerant connections, ISO protocol is suggested. You have the following options: - Redundant fault tolerant plant bus - Redundant fault tolerant terminal bus - Redundant fault tolerant terminal bus based on PRP (Using Softnet) - Redundant fault tolerant terminal bus based on Intel Teaming (basically two intel cards operating as one). When you have a plant bus with two rings, you can achieve 4 way redundancy by configuring redundant fault tolerant connections. So, there are a lot of possibilities, you have already seen that it doesn't work, you cannot compile to two different protocols ISO and TCP/IP. |
