Hi there Silent Bob. I would like to ask for your assitance/help regarding with my on going project. What I need is somewhat a watchdog that will monitor the communication link between a certain Data server and the PCS OPC server (Siemens) thru OPC tag. 1. The data server is continously sending incrementing REAL numbers then the PCS side will read/recieve the said values thru OPC tag. 2. The main objective here is that when something happens to the Data sever, the REAL values will not change and if the weren't chnaged after several minutes, an alarm will appear on the Operator Station. 3. I need to know about some sort of CFC blocks that can recieve REAL values thru OPC tag like the OP_A block I guess. Then if possible, a CFC block that will hold the previous value making it possible for the comaparator (like CMP_R) to check if the values were incrementing or changed. 4. What I'm thinking is that with only one source coming from the Data server then thru OPC tag, one connection will be directly connected to the comparator input 1 the another connection passes thru the holding CFC block then connected to comparator input 2. Depending on the conditions that will be stablished, the boolean output of comparator will be connected on a timer (for time delay) then the anunciator for the Alarm requirement. 5. Same diagram of what Peters did before, I don't really know what specific blocks he was using before. FYI My solution for Donny. In the document I always wrote "real" value but actually I have used an integer value. Don't be confused. It would work with real and int. AttachmentWorkaround_LifeBeat.pdf (364 Downloads) |
