Please also see the attached screenshots. I have some digital inputs wired to a FDI module. When I look at our wiring diagram I can see that I am using I18.4 paired with I18.5 and I18.6 paired with I18.7. The way it is wired I should get both sensor in a pair simultaneously on or off. However I am only getting one on the sensors and I think this is due to the discrepancy time set too low. But when I look at the discrepancy timing settings for the channels in the HW configuration I can not see that I18.4 is paired with I18.5 and I18.6 is paired with I18.7. In the HW configuration it looks like I18.4 is pared with I18.16 (discrepancy time 10ms), I18.5 is pared with I18.17(discrepancy time 20ms), I18.6 is pared with I18.19 (discrepancy time 10ms) and I18.7 is not paired at all (=no discrepancy time). How do increase the discrepancy time between I18.4 and I18.5 and between I18.6 and I18.7? hi, I guess these are the wrong pair. on your card the channel-pair would be: I16.0 and I17.4 I16.1 and I17.5 I16.2 and I17.6 I16.3 and I17.7 I16.4 and I18.0 I16.5 and I18.1 I16.6 and I18.2 I16.7 and I18.3 I17.0 and I18.4 I17.1 and I18.5 I17.2 and I18.6 I17.3 and I18.7 Have a look into the manual: SIMATIC Automation System S7-300 ET 200M Distributed I/O Device Fail-safe signal modules regards, |

Hi again mopS04, Thank you again, Please look at the attached screenshots - some of them are new. Yes - I can see that in the manual. The connections should be: I17.0 and I18.4 I17.1 and I18.5 I17.2 and I18.6 I17.3 and I18.7 1 Does this mean the same signal should be wired to I17.0 and I18.4 or is it enough to wire the signal to one of the channels and the channels are connected internally in the FDI module? 2 And when I look in the symbols list in the machine (see attached screenshot) I17.0 - I17.3 are used for different signals. I don't think they always should shift status at the same time. So is that an old programming error that should be corrected? 3 Why does the HW config says that the following channels are linked (or please explain it "for dummies" how it should be read if I am wrong): 0 - 12 1 - 13 2 - 14 3 - 15 4 - 16 5 - 17 6 - 18 7- 17 8 - 18 9 - 19 10 - 20 11 - 11 12 - 23

Hi again mopS04, Thank you again. Please also see the attached screenshot. do you get any error-message? When I do not have 2 high channels for each pair the logic will have an error stopping operation Did you measure the voltage at the pins of the module? No - next time a machine is available I can try to measure - exactly which pins are we talking about? Are the LED of the inputs on or off?
