what is the task profiler used to? in TRACE can only trance 8 signals?

        Q1: I need to trace more than 8 signals ,in the TRACE function  can  only trace 8 signals?

        Q2:i open the task profiler, what you ues it to do normally?

yes only 8 signals.
Or you activate the Testmodus on the CPU and use more Tracerecorders, read the online help how you do this.

 

Taks Profiler is a tool to analyze tasktraces of simotion.
you can create tasktrace in the device diagnostic of the simotion CPU.

in tesmodus no functional restrictions against the Process mode, but it need's more system ressources (Memory, taskruntime etc.)

 i see the online heip. it says :runtime and memory utilization increase as the use of diagnostic increases

 my question : if the memory utilization is too much .will that lead the CPU to stop  or some ohter problems?

yes then cpu goes to stop or crash with internal SW Error

do you know how much  precent of the RAM or RAM disk  used will lead the  CPU to stop?

If the signals are binary - there is a possiblility to collect them all together in a dword variable and trace that.

Then you can "tell" the trace recorder to display each bit of that dword as a single trace. Then you can get 32 tracks at once plus remaining 7 traces. Well, possibly the other 7 can be also parametrized like this, but I've never tried, which gives you up to 8x32 binary traces. And maybe it's also possible with qwords? Then 8x64 ? But this you have to check yourself. Or maybe someone knows it by hart or has already tried it.
