VVago Posts: 784 Rating: (51)	Pranav J. Bhagat Yes it is possible but need to take care of following points. . First Offline PC with PLC. . Set protocol in connection of Flexible same as PC-PLC protocol. . E.g. If HMI-PLC communication is on "MPI/DP" but PC is communicating with PLC on Ethernet then need to set "Ethernet" and relevant IP address of PLC and HMI in connection part of flexible. . But if both PLC-HMI and PLC-PC is communicating on same protocol then Assign Different spare address of network in HMI portion to avoid conflict of address. . E.g. If PLC-PC and PLC-HMI is communicating on Profibus then assign different Profibus of HMI in connection part of flexible. . Mr.Pranav , Kindly answer for the following questions: Assign spare address or unique address? Explain the previous method which you wrote it?

Suppose MPI/DP is communication protocol for PLC-PC-HMI and PC Adapter is used for Communication between PLC-PC . . And suppose Assigned address of HMI in connection tab of Wincc Flexible is 5 and spare or unique address in network is 9. . Now when you start runtime, PC Adapter will get same address (here in example 5) which is assign for HMI in Wincc Flexible. . So your PC Runtime will not communicate with PLC as identical address are detected in network. . So to get through this assign unique address (here in example 9) to accomplish PC runtime with PLC. . And then start Runtime again. .

Since I am having such type of application. Presently I am having remote PLC-HMI communicating on profibus and I want a PC to be connected with PLC to see the status of remote PLC in my control room.

House in one residential street is identified by its unique House Number and Two same house number will create confusion for identifying house in street. . Same logic need to ne applied for communication in Network. . So As I have mentioned in my all previous post, One network cannot have same address, we need to define unique address to each and every single device. . So here are you answers. . 1. By removing HMI from Network you can use PC address as HMI as HMI is being eliminated from network. . 2. But to have both PC and HMI simultaneous running, different address need to be assigned for unique identification. . I hope your doubts regarding this will be cleared now. .

Aymen A Advanced Member Joined: 9/11/2011 Last visit: 2/25/2021 Posts: 52 Rating: (0)	You must use different adress for the Panel and PC Runtime in order to avoid overlapping address between Panel and PC Runtime. In this case you can work with the both in the same time.
