kenan_kapidzic Posts: 35 Rating: (0)	ok......... so i set up two servers to run inredundancy with each other......... they also had a bit of a time difference, so i changed some of the time synchronization settings............ on the master server Time synchronization ienabled the Synchronization via Terminal Bus and set master server as Computer 1 and the stand-by server as Computer 2........ then i used project duplicator to duplicate this onto the stand-by server.............. when i started up runtime on both servers, the time difference was only about 2-3 seconds which is noticablly less then the previous time difference.......... i think the time difference is a result of a difference in the server processor speeds and maybe even propegation delay in the network........ anyways this is not tooimportant......... what is important is that your alarms messages have thesame time stamp on both servers........... so put those two servers into runtime and simulate an alarm andcheck if they ahave the same time down to the milisecond............

I checked this with time in the alarmlist and what I can se is the time exactly the same on both stations despite the system time is different? Perhaps the system clock not is included in the synchronisation. I did another test to day. I completely deleted the project on my partner scada, used Project Duplicator to copy my projectto the partner scadan.After thatI started bothstations and they both started whitout problems. Then I switched off partner scadan and went out for lunch, started up partner scadan agin when I came back and now it get stuck during activation of WinCC. It hangs up every time at the same place.During "initializing of alarm archives"for "Alarm logging runtime"

kenan_kapidzic Posts: 35 Rating: (0)	ok try this........ go to the Redundancy windowon the master server and make sure that all of the options in OptionalSettings are checked especially theones conserning alarm logging......... also select the option"Synchronize all data of the outage period"............... then click OK............. then close WinCCRuntime and WinCC Explorer on both of the servers.............. then go to project duplicator and duplicate the project to the stand by server........ according to the help files onproject duplicationofredundent servers,the project has to be closed for configured data and runtime data to be duplicated.......... if the project is opened then only configuration data will be duplicated and not the runtime data.........

Double click the clock in TaskBar and in the opened box go to Internet Timeand disable the box "Automatically synchronize with an Internet time server". It is recommended to do this even if the computer is not connected to the internet, because it disables the Windows service. Mike J

COM1 or Ethernet? ... I really don't know what happen when you enable both 2 - i seen you have 2 WinCC station configured (WinCC05 and WinCC10), them gets date&time from other station, that could bring stations in a recursive circle trying to update ate&time continuosly.... I think is better you select a 3rd station to be date&time master, or select WinCC05 like master (with no configuration in TerminalBus section) and WinCC10 like slave 3 - i don't see any configuration about synchronization on SystemBus...are you not using it? for kenan and Globe both did you already tryied to phisically disconnet station (or one of them) from network and put thm in Runtime mode? what happen...they work? what says WinCC diagnose in Redundancy logfile? for both situation: station connected and station disconnected Regards

For my set up COM 1 is a serial connection between the two servers, and its used for status checks............. the Ethernet is for communication.............. 2. In my set up, Wincc10 is the master and Wincc05 is the stand-by server......... i previously had the time synchronization only configuredso thatWincc05 would get the time from Wincc10, but this gave me a time difference of several seconds between the two servers.......... i played around with the time synchronization settings until i got the settings that are in the "how i did it" file........... after that the two servers completelly synched up....... 3. I didnt use the synchronization on the SystemBus because i was told i didnt need to........ i will configure it to see what happens and let you know.............. i did disconnect Wincc05 and i got these messages: REDRT:WINCC10:OS Server (Master) WINCC10 OS Server (Standby) WINCC05 Redundancy error. REDRT:WINCC10:Partner station failed REDRT:RedundancyControl: Connection of network card (MAC) address lost when i reconnected Wincc05 the two serversreestablished communication and synched back up with each other...........
