Aret Posts: 2348 Rating: (248)	When you download code in your PLC it's downloaded in load memory. Work memory contains executing blocks. You can use both up to 100%. Maybe i just didn't understood you....

Unfortunately the system I'm working on is having 90% of work memory full and it doesn't run my newly added code. So maybe this 100% is theoretically approved by Siemens, but it doesn't work at all. The configuration is a 315 2-DP with a CP 343-1 and 18 slaves, like UD73, WAGO and S7-200. So when I add my code nothing is processed, it get's even stranger when your code is running and working perfectly with the simulator. FKIL

Pay attention: Your Load memory should be greater than Work memory. Otherwise you cann't use the entire Work memory! Best regards, Wizard

Wizard Diamond Member Joined: 4/24/2006 Last visit: 2/26/2021 Posts: 7946 Rating: (1003)	Hello Aret, I don't know if it's mentioned in a manual But if you want to use the complete work memory, you need a MMC (load memory) which is greater. Have a look at Step7, directory blocks, go to Properties and the second tab, here you see that your programm needs more Load memory then Work memory. It's like Pegaia once mentioned, you can imagine it as Hard disk (load memory) and RAM (work memory). Hope this will help. Best regards, Wizard

Aret Posts: 2348 Rating: (248)	Ah, so. Then it is not limitation for work memory - but on load memory ^) So you can use 100% of the work memory - just in cases when they are equal you won't be able to download blocks to fill all 100% of work memory - that's what you meant?

The funny thing is when I look into a VAT I can see the inputs I need. But when I use them for some code nothing is processed... What's the maximum load on a profibus network? FKIL
