Dear Experts I'm making an upgrade to a winding machine, attached you can see the actual design, where: Axis 1 is the winder Axis 2 is a transport roller Axis 3 is a transport roller Axis 4 is a mechanism with approximately 250 shafts, each one has 6 small spool of thread, it mean (250x6=1500 yarns) one motor moves all mechanism. The diameter in the axis 1 is detected by a electronic measuring device and there is a load cell that detects the web tension About the material, the web tension could be between 17N and 225N depending on the composition (elastic yarn). Initial diameter is 198mm Final diameter is 667mm Currently the control works like this: In the begining it is a draw control, the operator sets the velocity in axis 4 and the gain factor in axes 1,2,3. This setting gives to the machine a web tension which is maintained during all process, the electronic control increments or decrements the axis 4 velocity, but the other ones remain its lineal velocity. The reason why the operator sets a velocity and the gains but no the tension is because depending of the material the operator changes the load cell for a higher one or for a smaller one depending of the material, so in the begining the system detects a tension and it will be its set point during all process. For make the upgrade I have: Siemens HMI. s7-1500 Axis 1 cu250s, PM240-2 and incremental encoder. Axis 2 cu250s, PM240-2 and incremental encoder. Axis 3 cu250s, PM240-2 and incremental encoder. Axis 4 cu250s, PM240-2 and incremental encoder. I want to change the control on this machine, there are things that can be improved, like the drop tension when the machine is sttarting, and other ones. so I am checking SIMATIC Converting Toolbox, and I have two options tension control torque adaption using load cell or tension control speed adaption using load cell, but I am not sure what would be more suitable for my application, Can you help me, please? Hello Dear Experts. Thanks a lot for your help, I will try direct tension control with tension transducer via torque limits. On the other hand I dowloaded a file with the drive configuration ScriptDriveConfig_V1_4_1 (attached file) from SIMATIC converting toolbox, but I don't have Starter, normally I program drives with Startdrive, Is there any way to execute this script with startdrive?, or do I need to get the Starter. Thanks in advance With best regards.

Hello, the script is not available for Startdrive up to now, but in general you don't need it. For the SIMATIC winder, there is another solution, which I recommend to use. https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/ww/en/view/58565043 You can use it with your S7-1500 PLC. |
