Hi, At the moment there is no update procedure. Updating CMT/EPHT/EMT from other library to master library is not described anywhere. It is not allowed to copy and replace the types. I faced the issue last week. I created a workaround where you need to rename the EPHT/EMT and it's associated SFC type and then assign all instances to the temporarily name. Afterwards, you can copy the new version in the library and then assign the instances back to the original name. Siemens will not verify this procedure, which is very annoying since they do not describe the procedure anywhere. We have to wait for the official documentation, but that is not easy to do when doing a project. Deleting the EPHT/EMT will result in that the instances must be deleted too. This is however usually not an option because you need to do a lot of rework (interconnections to and from the EPH/EM instances). Replacing EPHT/EMT without updating SFC will result in errors in the project where FB numbers cannot be found anymore so don't do that. An EPHT/EMT always consists of a CFC chart with a sequencer logic meaning an SFC type. Together this is the actual EPHT/EMT. It is possible to use the regular SFC type but the disadvantage is that you need to create a CFC chart to place the SFC instance in it and you have no synchronization options between type-instance. Also you are missing the TIO editor for assigning technological IO and pink parameters. I highly suggest that you create a EPHT/EMT and copy the contents like characteristics/steps/sequencers from the SFC type and place inside the sequencer logic of the EPHT/EMT. |
